Time of The Day

Unlike the original English version of the game (die2nite), MyHordes implemented the different times of the day that affected Hordes (French version). Basically the day is divided in Day and Night based in the game time (UTC +2). Some important game mechanics are affected.

19h00 - 7h00 : The Night

For 12 hours between those two times, the game is affected by darkness.

The Searches: Excavations in the desert suffer a relatively large penalty during the Night Time. In MyHordes the penalty is a 20-33% malus for each search. Fortunately, some objects allow you to cancel the Night Time penalty:

  • Bedside Lamp (on) Bedside lamp (on).
  • Torch Torch.
  • Novelty Torch (1 or 2 charges) Novelty Torch (1 or 2 charges).

These objects must be placed on the ground and not in the rucksack for them to cancel the Night Time penalty.

There is a construction that can cancel the Night Time penalty for searches within a given range (that can also be improved by Daily Upgrades). See Public Lights Public Lights.

Camping survival chances: Camping chances are improved by 10% if you hide during the Night Time (so either early in the day or near attack).

Scout being detected: Chances for a Scout to lose camouflage during the night drop significantly (as if the Scout was travelling through a Scout visited zone of +1 the current level and 66% of the chance after that).
Example: a Scout visiting a ruin with 15 zombies during the day have almost 30% chance of losing the camouflage. The same situation during the night would be a 13% chance.

Steal from the Bank: During the Night Time an option to steal an item from the Bank will appear in the Bank page. There's a 33% chance of success and the theft will be undetected. This doesn't count for theft of objects distinction.

Breakthrough bonus: The Breakthrough ability gains a bonus during Night Time (75% chance of success vs. 50% during the Day Time).

The odds and effects here are subject to change as the game develops.

7h00 - 19h00 : The Day

During this period all nighttime effects are cancelled. No new effects take place here.
